The Citadel has offered the following guidelines for parking for the Tuesday funeral of the late U.S. Sen. Fritz Hollings:
Handicapped general parking
Park in spaces in front of Bond Hall on Lee Ave. (see map)
General guest parking
Park in Hampton Park, on the grass just behind The Citadel. Nose in toward fence separating the college and park. Walk through gates will be open. (see map)
VIPs and close family parking
- Park along the Avenue of Remembrance (see map)
- That road will be closed to traffic, other than the hearse/procession, and list of VIP guests who will be permitted through by safety officers. It is preferable to have a list on names in advance, which can be coordinated with number of spaces tomorrow by public safety team.
- There are several handicapped spaces there for folks with walkers or wheelchairs (4)
